This time, we visited the factory responsible for their production
to witness firsthand the moment each pair comes to life.
■ 西陣織の輝きが、スニーカーへと生まれ変わる場所
場所は東京都内にある靴の生産工場。一歩足を踏み入れると、機械の低い音が響いていました。
ここでは、熟練の職人たちが一足ずつ、丁寧に靴を仕立てています。
棚に並ぶのは、木型の上で少しずつ形を帯びていくFUGAのスニーカーたち。
金糸を織り込んだ布が、光の角度で異なる表情を見せます。
伝統の息づく織物が、受け継がれた技術と現代の技術と出会うことで新たな命を宿す。

Stepping into the factory, the low hum of machinery filled the air.
Here, skilled artisans meticulously craft each pair of shoes, one at a time.
Lined up on shelves are FUGA sneakers gradually taking shape on wooden lasts.
Fabric woven with gold thread reveals different expressions depending on the angle of light.
Traditional textiles, breathing with heritage, meet inherited techniques and modern technology to be imbued with new life.
This is the “one-of-a-kind craftsmanship” that FUGA pursues.
■ 一足に宿る“日本の美”
西陣織とは京都の伝統工芸品で、細かで繊細な柄が特徴で巾着や茶道具、日本人形衣装などに使われてきた高級織物です。
スニーカーに必要な柔軟性と耐久性を保ちつつ、布の表情を壊さないように、職人が慎重に仕立てています。

Nishijin-ori is a traditional Kyoto craft, a high-end textile characterized by its intricate, delicate patterns, used for drawstring pouches, tea ceremony utensils, and Japanese doll costumes.
Craftsmen carefully guided the sewing machine to preserve the fabric’s texture while maintaining the flexibility and durability required for sneakers.
Embedded in every stitch is FUGA’s philosophy: “Wear Japan”—bringing Japanese beauty into everyday life.
Prioritizing elegance over flashiness, it subtly enhances the wearer’s individuality.
To preserve this balance, we never compromise on either sewing or decoration.

西陣織にある文様はすべて古来より縁起の良いとされる柄が並んでいます。
文様、色それぞれに“意味”があり、厄除け・長寿・繁栄・再生といった願いが込められています。
